Spurred on by the increased visibility of the Black Lives Matter movement, following the murder of George Floyd in 2020, organisations rushed to show that they were “on the right side of history” and supporting their minoritised employees, particularly those of Black heritage. This could be seen in a massive increase in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) initiatives, and an increase in those people talking about ED&I.

I've been struggling and really feeling a dissonance between what I'm seeing in this glass box (phone) and what I know is happening in the world.
And I haven't been feeling the need to comment particularly about things. Because we don't need more commentary.
But here's a few thoughts that have been in my mind. And a reminder that we cannot be free until we are all free. My freedom is incomplete without yours. Our battles are intertwined

We are taking it slow
May is our month to focus on health, and it has become apparent that we need to focus on our own. So, we are going to be taking it slow.
We might organise some events. We might not.
If you already have training or consultancy booked with us, that will go ahead, be we won't be taking any new bookings.
A lot goes on behind the scenes to make the Belonging Network what it is. And it is a lot to manage.
So, we are resting. A little.
